Q: Why can't boron simply be applied heavily?

Boron has a very narrow deficiency-to-toxicity window. Too little causes flowering and fruit-set failure; too much causes toxicity (e.g. leaf-margin scorch). Soil boron is immobile, so precision matters more than quantity.

Q: Which crops are most boron-responsive?

Fruit trees (apple, citrus, mango), legumes, rapeseed, cotton, sugar beet and many vegetables respond strongly. Their yields and quality drop sharply under deficiency.

Q: Foliar or soil application?

A small soil basal dose plus targeted foliar sprays at flowering and fruit-set is the most controllable approach, especially on leached or acidic soils.
